On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, we hosted our second annual Midsummer Mingle at our Plymouth campus. This family-friendly event provided a casual opportunity for friends and neighbors of Missions Inc. to see the campus, enjoy community fellowship, and learn more about the work of Missions Inc. Programs and Mission Nursing Home.

We were delighted to welcome 70 attendees, including new faces, recurring supporters, past and current employees from multiple programs, and residents. Special guests included:

  • Representatives from  Congressman Dean Phillips’ office, Senator Klobuchar’s office, and County Commissioner Irene Fernando’s office Sen. Klobuchar’s office (Allie Glass)
  • Congressional candidate Tad Jude (District 3)
  • State Rep. Ginny Klevorn
  • Plymouth City Council Members Catherine Cesnik, Kimberly Nelson and Clark Gregor
  • Plymouth Organizational Development and Equity Partner Paul Johnson

Additionally, we were pleased to see our board members Teresa Determan, Peter Mannix, Kelly Kiwus, Sahar Erickson, and Claudia Aurand in attendance.

Mission Lodge tours were a highlight of the evening, with many excited to see the upgraded spaces and learn more about Phase III of our renovations, which involves remodeling the Mission Lodge Dining Hall, which began demolition this week—stay tuned for updates!

At 5 pm, we had a short program where our CEO and Director of Advancement shared information about our organization’s work. We also welcomed a guest speaker, Tyler Hesseltine from Davey Tree, who spoke about their efforts in planting 100 diverse trees on our campus. Thanks to a DNR Grant and the care of Davey Tree, we have been able to restore and enhance the natural beauty of our campus after losing many trees to the emerald ash borer.

Midsummer Mingle was a wonderful evening of fun, learning, and community building. Keep an eye on our social media, as we look forward to sharing more highlights from the evening. We thank everyone who attended and made the event a success.
