Position:  Lead House Manager
Program: Mission Lodge
Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary:  Mission Lodge, an 89-bed residential program for men and women who are chronically chemically dependent, is seeking a full time Lead House Manager. This position will provide service to men and women who have chronic addition to drugs or alcohol. Responsible for scheduling and ongoing orientation/guidance of house managers to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, coordinating the Mission Lodge work program and assisting residents in setting goals from admission to discharge.

Experience & Qualifications: 

TRAINING:

  1. Coordinate house managers work schedule, ensuring appropriate 24-hour coverage of facility.
  2. Provide hands-on orientation of new house managers and ongoing guidance as needed.  Provide recommendations for training of house managers to program director.

GOAL PLANNING:

  1.  Conduct admission interviews and provide orientation for new residents, including room/bed assignments.
  2. Assist residents in developing and achieving their goals, by completing monthly goal plans.
  3.  Utilize Lead Advocate for current referral resources in response to resident needs.

WORK PROGRAM:

  1. Provide orientation of new residents to work program ensuring all residents have an unpaid work assignment for their first 30 days.
  2. Coordinate work program, providing opportunities for all residents that want to participate.
  3. Ensure all common areas of Mission Lodge have appropriate work program personnel assigned to clean.

PROGRAM LEAD:

  1. Be responsible for the stable and safe operation of the program by enforcing rules fairly and consistently.
  2. Mediate problems between residents and defuse potentially volatile situations using de-escalation techniques.
  3. Conduct ongoing inspection of the facility, record maintenance needs on appropriate forms for routing to the maintenance department.

 Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ experience in chemical dependency field, experience with chronically chemically dependent people preferred;
  • Good working knowledge of poverty and homelessness;
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills;
  • Uninterrupted sobriety if chemically dependent;
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds;
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to the unique problems encountered by chronic chemically dependent and homeless people;
  • Knowledge of community resources and systems relevant to the needs of residents;
  • Informal counseling skills and ability to engage and instruct residents in positive behaviors;
  • Valid MN Driver’s License, completion of defensive driving course and insurable driving record.

Position: Children's Advocate
Program: Home Free
Location: Plymouth, MN  

FTE: Part Time

Position Summary: Responsible for providing childcare for children ages new born to seventeen years. It will include coordinating a variety of activities; including meeting with moms one on one, leading parenting groups, leading children's support groups, public speaking with schools or youth groups, recreational outings, transportation and one on one time with the children as well as any tasks needed to maintain the safety of the play areas and outside of the shelter.  

 This position reports to the Children’s Program Coordinator.  

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience working with children;
  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • Have a valid MN Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to Missions Inc. insurance company;
  • Must be able to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds;

Position: House Manager
Program: Mission Lodge
Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary: Mission Lodge, an 89-bed residential program for men and women who are chronically chemically dependent, is seeking on call House Managers. This position will provide direct service to men and women who have chronic addition to drugs or alcohol. They are responsible for monitoring resident activity, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
 

Experience & Qualifications:

This position will provide supportive services and a secure, safe environment for residents; maintain confidentiality of all residents; monitor medication; assist in resident transportation; answer incoming calls; conduct random urinalysis drug/alcohol screenings; make a visual check of all residents and document residents’ status; assist with meals; provide crisis intervention; complete clerical and other tasks; work well with people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, and have awareness of culturally specific resources.

  • Experience with chronic chemical dependency, homelessness and poverty;
  • Ability to maintain safety and provide appropriate and respectful services to chemically dependent people in a chemically-free board and lodging setting;
  • Experience in a residential program required;
  • One year sobriety if chemically dependent;
  • Maintain confidentiality, ethical boundaries and professional conduct in all interactions with residents; 
  • Experience mediating problems using de-escalation techniques; 
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds and to promote fairness and equality.

Compensation: Salary range: $14.39 ($29,931) - $16.18 ($33,654).  Salary commensurate with skills and experience.

Position: LPN
Program: Mission Detox Center
Location: Plymouth, MN  

FTE: Part Time includes every Sunday -7 pm to 7 am & every Tuesday or Thursday - 7 am to 7 pm  (On-Call shifts available for regularly scheduled week-ends and overnights)

Position Summary: Nurses provide health care services for patients undergoing detoxification and serve as the responsible staff person in the unit.

Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Minnesota LPN license;
  • One year of nursing experience;
  • Two years freedom from chemical use problems;
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the job including ability to bend, stoop, and kneel frequently on a shift, ability to ascend and descend flights of stairs and other lifting or physical requirements;
  • Knowledge and/or experience in management of intoxicated and chemically dependent persons is preferred;

Position: Women's Advocate
Program: Home Free
Location: Plymouth, MN  

FTE:  Full Time & Part Time (Relief positions are also available for all shifts)

Position Summary: The Women's Advocate will provide advocacy, crisis intervention, support, information, and access to resources appropriate to the needs of battered women and their children. 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • An understanding of and sensitivity to the unique problems encountered by women and children needing shelter and advocacy services;
  • Knowledge of social service, welfare, mental health and criminal justice systems pertinent to the needs of abused women;
  • The ability to respond to women and children in crisis with appropriate listening and intervention skills;
  • Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 35 pounds; be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb (ascend and descend) several flights of stairs;
  • Valid Minnesota drivers license and an insurable driving record;

Position: Chemical Dependency Counselor
Program: Mission Detox Center
Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary: This position provides individual assessment, intervention and referral, making DSM-V diagnoses and document the above in formal discharge summaries; show evidence of consideration to age-specific differences when collecting information, evaluating needs, and making referrals; maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients; provide comprehensive written records on individual clients so that medical records, licensing, and program standards are maintained; admit and discharge clients, complete chart forms; observe behaviors, recognize and report potential medical or psychiatric emergencies; respond to client behavior in a safe and therapeutic manner, showing evidence of age-specific differences; provide crisis intervention; conduct Rule 25 assessments;  develop individualized treatment plans; complete 15 hours of continuing education annually and maintain qualified rule 25 Assessor status; work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor (LADC);
  • Competency in areas of: chemical abuse and dependency, chemical use assessments, case management, individual counseling, crisis intervention;
  • Prior training/experience in assessing needs of adolescents and seniors - or - completion of program training within thirty days of employment;
  • Ability to perform basic health assessment procedures, CPR, first aid, and client care functions, or upon employment completion of Mission Detox Center technician training;
  • Evidence of two years free from chemical use problems;
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job which may include walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling multiple times per shift, other lifting or transferring of clients, ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, ability to ascend and descend two flights of stairs,

Position: Chemical Dependency Technician
Program: Mission Detox Center
Location: Plymouth, MN  

FTE:  Part Time and on-call positions available all shifts; (7:00am-3:30pm, 3:00-11:30pm, 11:00pm - 7:30am)

Position Summary: This position will assist in the detoxification process of clients while maintaining high standards of care; admit and discharge clients according to established procedures; observe and chart patient behaviors, considering individual and age-specific differences, in order to recognize, report and assist in addressing potential medical, psychiatric and behavioral problems; appropriately document clients’ progress in clinical record; work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds; complete 15 hours training annually per Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 32. 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D.;
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency;
  • Ability to, once employed and upon successful completion of the Mission Detox Center training, have the ability to perform basic health assessments, first aid and client care functions;
  • Meet the physical demands of the job including: walking, bending, stooping and kneeling multiple times per shift; other lifting or transferring of clients; ability to lift in excess of 35 pounds;
  • Work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. 
  • Must present evidence of a minimum of one-year's freedom from chemical use problems.

 Compensation: Hourly rate $14.18 for on call and $14.18 ($29,494) to $14.74 ($30,659) for part time positions. Salary commensurate with skills and experience. Position Summary:  Hart House is a transitional housing program for women in recovery. Located in St. Paul, MN Hart House has 24-beds and provides women with safe, sober housing, goal-planning, advocacy, support and information. The program is staffed 24-hours and provides three meals daily. Openings for on-call staff; overnight and weekend shifts available. 

Experience & Qualifications:

Program: Smith Lodge

Position Summary: Smith Lodge, an 21-bed residential program for men and women who are chronically chemically dependent, is seeking on call House Staff. This position will provide direct service to men and women who have chronic addition to drugs or alcohol. They are responsible for monitoring resident activity, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.

 Experience & Qualifications:

This position will provide have a thorough knowledge of the Smith Lodge Program, its rules and regulations, and uphold the policies and procedures of the operations of Missions, Inc., have a good working knowledge of confidentiality laws and abide by them being particularly mindful of communication difficulties and lack of privacy that Smith Lodge presents, have a complete working knowledge of Emergency Procedures and all forms that accompy them and attend quarterly Emergency Procedure reviews., attend staff meetings and in-service trainings, complete clerical assignments and other tasks as assigned by the program manager, make frequent visual checks of all Smith Lodge residents making appropriate staff log notations and complete an evening bed check when working the second shift, answer incoming calls to Smith Lodge and provide appropriate information, assist residents with appointments and transportation arrangements, monitor medications to ensure residents are taking them appropriately an document as instructed, make appropriate notations in individual client case fil

  • Have a good working knowledge of A.A. and other recovery-based programs.;
