Position Summary:  Missions Inc. Programs, a nonprofit social service agency located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, is seeking a Program Director for Mission Detox Center, a 21-bed detoxification facility located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in suburban Hennepin County.  

The Program Director is responsible for overall program operation, ensuring quality care at Mission Detox Center through staff supervision, client care monitoring, quality improvement activities, program planning and evaluation, and coordination of services; participation in the development of program annual budget and monitoring of expenses; and ensuring the program philosophy and services reflect the diversity of its clients. The Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director. 

Required Experience:

We are seeking an experienced program manager who is committed to providing quality care and who possesses strong human resource and leadership skills. 

  • Three years of experience in administration or personnel supervision in human services or healthcare.
  • Minimum of one year experience in direct service or in the management or administration of direct service to individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of MN Rule 32, pertaining to MN detoxification facilities licensing requirements.
  • Knowledge of medical triage and assessment and client care functions.
  • Free from chemical use problems at least two years prior to hiring.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

The ideal candidate:  Registered or licensed practical nurse, or licensed alcohol and drug counselor.

Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary:  Missions Inc. Programs, a nonprofit social service agency located on the north shore of Medicine Lake in Plymouth, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for oversight of all aspects of building and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of multiple facilities. In addition to hands-on maintenance duties, this position is responsible for the supervision of a team of 2 Maintenance Technicians which includes assigning and prioritizing work tasks, inspecting work quality. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience required;
  • Broad range of experience in all areas of building and grounds maintenance, including but not limited to appliance repair, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and preventative maintenance; 
  • Class C Boilers License required;
  • Valid Driver's License with insured reliable vehicle and safe DMV driving record;
  • The ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Job-related management and supervisory experience;

Position: House Manager
Program: Mission Lodge
Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary: Mission Lodge, an 89-bed residential program for men and women who are chronically chemically dependent, is seeking full-time and on call House Managers. This position will provide direct service to men and women who have chronic addition to drugs or alcohol. They are responsible for monitoring resident activity, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position will provide supportive services and a secure, safe environment for residents; maintain confidentiality of all residents; monitor medication; assist in resident transportation; answer incoming calls; conduct random urinalysis drug/alcohol screenings; make a visual check of all residents and document residents’ status; assist with meals; provide crisis intervention; complete clerical and other tasks; work well with people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, and have awareness of culturally specific resources.

  • Experience with chronic chemical dependency, homelessness and poverty.
  • Ability to maintain safety and provide appropriate and respectful services to chemically dependent people in a chemically-free board and lodging setting.
  • Experience in a residential program required. 
  • One year sobriety if chemically dependent.
  • Maintain confidentiality, ethical boundaries and professional conduct in all interactions with residents. 
  • Experience mediating problems using de-escalation techniques. 
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds and to promote fairness and equality.

Program: Mission Detox Center

Position Summary: Nurses provide health care services for patients undergoing detoxification and serve as the responsible staff person on all shifts;   7:00 am - 7:00 pm,  7:00 pm - 7:00 am.  

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Minnesota LPN license;
  • One year of nursing experience;
  • Two years freedom from chemical use problems;

Position Summary: The Woman's Advocate will provide advocacy, crisis intervention, support, information, and access to resources appropriate to the needs of battered women and their children. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of social service, welfare, mental health and criminal justice systems pertinent to the needs of abused women;

Position: Children's Advocate
Program: Home Free

Position Summary: The Children's Advocate is responsible for providing childcare for children ages new born to seventeen years. It will include coordinating a variety of activities, recreational outings, transportation and one on one time with the children as well as any tasks needed to maintain the safety of the play areas and outside of the shelter.  This position reports to the Children’s Program Coordinator.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have previous childcare experience;
  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • Have a valid MN Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to Missions Inc. insurance company;
  • Must be able to work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds;

Position: Legal Advocate
Program: Home Free Community Program
Location: Plymouth, MN

Position Summary:

Missions Inc. Programs is seeking applications for a full-time Legal Advocate at its Home Free Community Program serving victims of domestic violence. Home Free’s domestic assault intervention project works with police, prosecutors, courts and social service systems to provide an immediate and appropriate response to domestic assault.  This position will provide individual and class advocacy with social service, mental health, medical and criminal justice systems on behalf of abused women in the community; perform legal advocacy duties, as necessary, in all arrest and non-arrest cases (OFP filings and hearings, criminal assault procedures); provide crisis intervention, supportive listening, and information on resources; provide transportation for community women in own vehicle; prepare and update departure packets for community women leaving the Home Free shelter; participate in the development and distribution of information on the community program, specifically for the purpose of training volunteers and educating members of the community; maintain accurate recording and filing systems for services provided, submit data reports as needed; maintain confidentiality of all clients; work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds.  Position reports to the Community Program Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Civil and criminal advocacy experience;
  • Knowledge of social service, welfare, mental health, civil and criminal justice systems pertinent to the needs of abused women;
  • An understanding of and sensitivity to the unique problems encountered by women and children needing advocacy services;

Position: Immigrant Advocate
Program: Home Free

Position: Chemical Dependency Counselor
Program: Mission Detox Center

Position Summary: This position provides individual assessment, intervention and referral, making DSM-V diagnoses and document the above in formal discharge summaries; show evidence of consideration to age-specific differences when collecting information, evaluating needs, and making referrals; maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients; provide comprehensive written records on individual clients so that medical records, licensing, and program standards are maintained; admit and discharge clients, complete chart forms; observe behaviors, recognize and report potential medical or psychiatric emergencies; respond to client behavior in a safe and therapeutic manner, showing evidence of age-specific differences; provide crisis intervention; conduct Rule 25 assessments;  develop individualized treatment plans; complete 15 hours of continuing education annually and maintain qualified rule 25 Assessor status; work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug counselor (LADC);
  • Competency in areas of: chemical abuse and dependency, chemical use assessments, case management, individual counseling, crisis intervention;
  • Prior training/experience in assessing needs of adolescents and seniors - or - completion of program training within thirty days of employment;
  • Ability to perform basic health assessment procedures, CPR, first aid, and client care functions, or upon employment completion of Mission Detox Center technician training;
  • Evidence of two years free from chemical use problems;
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job which may include walking, bending, stooping, and kneeling multiple times per shift, other lifting or transferring of clients, ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, ability to ascend and descend two flights of stairs,

Position: Chemical Dependency Technician

Position Summary: This position will assist in the detoxification process of clients while maintaining high standards of care; admit and discharge clients according to established procedures; observe and chart patient behaviors, considering individual and age-specific differences, in order to recognize, report and assist in addressing potential medical, psychiatric and behavioral problems; appropriately document clients’ progress in clinical record; work well with people from diverse racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds; complete 15 hours training annually per Minnesota Department of Human Services Rule 32. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D.;
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency;
  • Ability to, once employed and upon successful completion of the Mission Detox Center training, have the ability to perform basic health assessments, first aid and client care functions;
  • Meet the physical demands of the job including: walking, bending, stooping and kneeling multiple times per shift; other lifting or transferring of clients; ability to lift in excess of 35 pounds;

Position Summary:  Hart House is a transitional housing program for women in recovery. Located in St. Paul, MN Hart House has 24-beds and provides women with safe, sober housing, goal-planning, advocacy, support and information. The program is staffed 24-hours and provides three meals daily. Openings for on-call staff; overnight and weekend shifts available. 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position will provide supportive services and a secure, safe environment for residents; maintain confidentiality of all residents; monitor medication; assist in resident transportation; answer incoming calls; conduct random urinalysis drug/alcohol screenings; make a visual check of all residents and document residents’ status; assist with meals; provide crisis intervention; complete clerical and other tasks; work well with people from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, and have awareness of culturally specific resources.

Position Summary: Mission Nursing Home has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Nursing.  The successful candidate will have a positive personality, is very hands on, Survey savvy, and can lead a successful and caring team.
